  It's not personal. Imagine the most arrogant, pushy, stubborn, smarmy little creep you can. He's an elder and Pioneer 'serving where the need is great' and thinks he's God's gift to the congregation and to Jehovah himself. Bullies other elders. According to an elder who was a friend of mine, Wanis just loooooves judicial committees. Has.no thought that s not from the governing body. Sneaky and manipulative, yet has some trouble with anger management. Besties with the co. That's just what I learned in only a few months between when he moved in and i faded.

  How Many Had Chronic fatigue syndrome?

  chronic fatigue syndrome refers to severe, continued tiredness that is not relieved by rest and is not directly caused by other medical conditions.. did you have many congregation members, particularly pioneers, that said they had " chronic fatigue syndrome" ?.

  that's their "get-out-of-jail-free card.

  " they were free to cancel anything at anytime and it was their legitimate reason for not doing anything that didn't involve field recruiting.

  Certain jobs are better for CFS sufferers than others. Something very physical or stressful can wear you out more than a few hours sitting in an office. I had to have my work hours reduced with my onset of CFS (triggered by my cult involvement and a nasty bacterial infection which landed me in hospital on iv antibiotics and an operation) because I would shake and feel flu-like symptoms if I over did it. And you do have good days. On these days I'd get things done, but if I didn't pace myself I wouldn't be able to get out of bed the next day, or at best I'd need a big afternoon nap.

  Jws are more prone to fatigue issues because of the pointless grind of their lives and the stress that comes from constantly suppressing authentic self. It is a sign that something is drastically wrong with their lives and their bodies are rebelling. There are others who use it to mooch or play Munchausens, but I reckon most have it as a bodily reaction to being in a busy high control cult.

  hope you don't mind me posting.

  i'm a freelance writer, and am currently writing a story on the jehovah's witnesses church for a melbourne magazine.

  i've spoken with an elder/spokesperson of a melbourne jw church, who explained the official positions of the church at length, but i'm really interested in getting more of a sense of the day to day experiences of jws, both current and former.

  Yes, 15 years of Jw experience and frustration has gone into this!!! This Brother Wan(k)is is actually based on a real elder I knew, but the real one was married. OMG he was the most horrible guy you could imagine.

  What do you do when your job makes you wanna puke your face off?

  i'm talking like makes you physically sick and emotionally frazzled just thinking about it.

  i'm talking like you hate it to the point you'd rather go without than work at it just for the money.

  you'd live on cheap korean packet noodles for the next year instead of exchanging your labor for this job's money.. well, this is how i feel about teaching and tutoring.

  I've just landed a job in entertainment and I'm very happy with that.

  Did other JWs judge you? What for?

  Well to make Jehovah happy you must dress in a shapeless sack. Remember all those talks about how we sisters shouldn't dress in a way that just might give the male JWs an immoral thought? I always thought as a JW "Well they shouldn't be looking!" Man did I lock horns with a few on that. Never the men though, they were probably happy to see a bit of curve. It was always other women.

  I remember our congregation clothes Nazi out the back during the toilet break/song one Sunday railling about this 18 year old whose dress was see through and how she'd give her a dressing down for being so wicked. I happened to know this girl and she was the shyest little mouse who would never deliberately flaunt so I told her to back off because the girl didn't do it deliberately, she just didn't realise her skirt caught the light that way. I told the girl discreetly after the meeting and just as I predicted she was so embarrassed. Goes to show these old bats shouldn't rush to conclusions and be so damn judgmental.
